In reality, nostalgia's the only reason you claim GE is a classic.

I guess mom wouldn't let you play PD until it was released on the arcade though, so you wouldn't know. Rare actually tried for originality with PD, and, unlike you, many were more impressed with PD's ingenuity than they were with GE (Single and Multi). Seriously, that's the dumbest thing I have ever read. GE's story was ripped off of the movie, which wasn't that great to begin with. Goldeneye's singleplayer didn't even HAVE a story (or characters for that matter), and PD was far superior to GE in every way imaginable. "The other though was the story mode, which was inferior to GoldenEye 007 in terms of both design and its insipid characters, plot and game "The other though was the story mode, which was inferior to GoldenEye 007 in terms of both design and its insipid characters, plot and game world." David Jenkins, you're a fucking idiot. Nearly three and a half years later, though, The Initiative continues to stress that work on Perfect Dark is still "early in development".As far as i'm concerned,This is one of the greatest games ever made! Certainly the best on the N64 IMO.I dont know why everyone goes on about Goldeneye, this game is far superior in every way,& has genuinely groundbreaking ideas, such as a friend being able to play as your enemies in the campaign,& Co-Op for the campaign, which was almost unheard of in those days, especially for an FPS.While Goldeneye, was a pretty generic game, with notthing particually special or outstanding about it,& If released today,Goldeneye would be seen as a weak game i suspect, but after playing the newly polished Perfect Dark, its still got all the magic,& all the features that made it a classic game. From the features already mentioned,to the great weapons with imaginative secondary modes, well thought out missions, with varying objectives depending on the game dificulty, that are untypical in this day & age,the music, everything was good. Most of the weapons in Perfect Dark have become iconic to anyone that has played the game.A great job has been done on the new version of this game, giving it a High Def polish & a super smooth framerate(which was the only thing that let the original down a little). This is as close to a 'Perfect' (Pun Intended) game than your going to get.Wether you had this on the N64 or not,I HIGHLY recommend this game. Since that time, The Initiative has made clear that it was going to take some time to build its staff out before it would then begin work on its first project. For those that don't remember, Xbox founded the studio back in 2018. Perhaps the biggest point of confusion in all of this, at least for me, comes with the work that The Initiative has been doing over the past few years. EiqjU99wMa- TheInitiative September 24, 2021 Perfect Dark update! We are partnering with Crystal Dynamics, the world class team behind character-driven games such as Tomb Raider, to bring this first-person spy thriller to a new generation. As such, to see that the studio hasn't even shipped a single game up until this point and it's already folding in Crystal Dynamics to help with Perfect Dark doesn't make a whole lot of sense given what we have been told in the past. Basically, The Initiative is meant to be Xbox's response to studios like Naughty Dog or Santa Monica Studio. This is a (largely nonsensical) term that indicates that the games that The Initiative will be working on are going to be massive in scope and will have quite a bit of money poured into them. What makes this move from The Initiative and Xbox with Perfect Dark somewhat odd is that The Initiative itself has previously been described as a "AAAA" studio.
